POMA, innovation

for the project

The first angled fixed chairlift

in the world

The POMA teams took on a major challenge: developing a ropeway system that can follow the 30° angle of the slope at mid-run. This ropeway is the first in the world with a middle station at the turning point in the slope to disembark skiers.

Pedestrian chairlift

Ski Dubai offers a pedestrian fare for a trip on the chairlift without descending. An option that has become very popular with a clientele who want to discover the world of snow.

It is also for this reason, and given the large number of inexperienced skiers, that the loading conveyor belt initially installed to facilitate departures was removed.

Surface lifts

The arrival of the chairlift joins the Ski Dubai surface lift, also created by POMA in 2005.

Following the success of the Ski Dome, a second surface lift was installed in 2015, Ski Dubai 2 so that skiers can quickly go to the top of the slopes and quickly go back down again.
